The Czech Semiconductor Centre (CSC) has provided mentoring support, expert guidance, and practical advice to talented students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication (FEEC), Brno University of Technology (BUT), who developed the educational platform ELEDU Didactic (www.eledu.cz). The initiative has now taken an important step forward: ELEDU Didactic has officially become a Brno University of Technology start-up, marking a significant milestone in translating student innovation into real-world impact.
The project’s goal is to improve the quality of teaching in electrical engineering at secondary schools and universities through modern educational tools. At its core are Elabrix kits, designed to bring electronics and circuits to life through hands-on experiments.“We designed modern educational kits that help pupils and students discover electrical engineering with their own hands, not just watch it passively. We wanted them to feel curiosity, joy and understanding with every connection—exactly the feeling that once drew us to technology,” said Matěj Kadlíček, CEO of the newly established BUT start-up.

Development was also supported by testing during laboratory classes at FEEC BUT, ensuring the kits meet real teaching needs and work effectively in the classroom environment. By mentoring the ELEDU team, the Czech Semiconductor Centre reinforces a key strategic priority: developing future talent for the chip and semiconductor industry. Strong semiconductor ecosystems depend not only on advanced research and manufacturing, but also on a robust pipeline of engineers — something that begins with high-quality STEM education and engaging early experiences.
ELEDU Didactic contributes to this vision by making electronics more accessible, inspiring students to pursue technical fields, and strengthening the foundations for future experts in microelectronics, chip design, embedded systems, and hardware engineering.
Beyond improving engineering education in the Czech Republic, the ELEDU team aims to expand internationally and support broader European educational innovation. The start-up also aligns with the global STEM initiative, seeking to attract children and young people to technical subjects and help build long-term interest in engineering careers. The transformation of ELEDU Didactic into a BUT start-up, supported through mentoring by the Czech Semiconductor Centre, is a clear example of how universities and industry-driven centres can work together to turn student creativity into solutions with national and European relevance — while investing in the next generation of semiconductor professionals.
