SEMICON Europa 2025, the leading European event for the microelectronics and semiconductor industry, took place from November 18–21, 2025, at Messe München in Munich. This year’s edition was particularly significant as it marked the 50th anniversary of SEMICON Europa, underscoring five decades of technological progress, innovation, and international cooperation in the semiconductor sector.
Held under the overarching theme “Global Collaborations for European Economic Resilience,” the event highlighted the strategic importance of cross-border partnerships in strengthening Europe’s semiconductor value chains. Co-located with productronica, SEMICON Europa once again served as a key meeting point for industry, research, and policy representatives from across the globe.
The anniversary edition focused on several defining topics for the future of microelectronics, including advanced semiconductor manufacturing and packaging, sustainable production processes, new materials, MEMS and sensor technologies, and the growing need for resilience and security in global supply chains. Conferences, technical sessions, and exhibition stands reflected both the rapid pace of innovation and the increasing emphasis on collaboration between industry and academia.
The Czech Republic was prominently represented at SEMICON Europa 2025 through a joint national stand supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. The Czech pavilion showcased the breadth and maturity of the country’s semiconductor ecosystem, bringing together companies, research institutions, universities, and innovation organizations.
Among the exhibitors were EP Rožnov, Inovační centrum Ústeckého kraje, Mycroft Mind, ON Semiconductor Czech Republic, Streicher, SVCS Process Innovation, UJP Praha, the Institute of Scientific Instruments of the Czech Academy of Sciences, and Brno University of Technology, alongside other Czech technology and research stakeholders. Their presence demonstrated the Czech Republic’s ability to contribute across the semiconductor value chain, from research and development to manufacturing technologies and advanced applications.
A key role in coordinating and promoting Czech participation was played by the Czech National Semiconductor Cluster, which was also present at the fair. The cluster helped connect Czech exhibitors with international partners and reinforced the country’s visibility within the European semiconductor community. The Czech stand was further strengthened by the participation of representatives from universities and research organizations, as well as the Czech Semiconductor Centre, emphasizing the close link between industry, academia, and national strategic initiatives.
Beyond the exhibition itself, SEMICON Europa provided valuable opportunities for networking and dialogue. Czech representatives actively participated in accompanying events, including targeted business and cooperation meetings. Notable Czech figures present at the fair included Jana Drbohlavová, Vice-Director of CSC, Stanislav Černý, President of the Czech National Semiconductor Cluster, and Jiří Háze from FEEC BUT, who contributed to discussions on international cooperation, innovation policy, and the future development of the semiconductor ecosystem.
These interactions helped strengthen ties not only within Europe but also with partners from other key semiconductor regions, supporting Czech ambitions to play a more visible role in global value chains.
Czech exhibitors evaluated this year’s SEMICON Europa very positively, highlighting the high quality of contacts, strong interest in Czech solutions, and concrete follow-up opportunities with potential partners and customers. The shared national stand proved effective both in terms of visibility and in facilitating meaningful conversations with international visitors.
With more than 500 exhibitors from over 40 countries and tens of thousands of professional visitors, SEMICON Europa 2025 once again confirmed its position as Europe’s flagship semiconductor event. For Czech companies, clusters, universities, and research institutions, participation in this milestone anniversary edition represented an important step toward deeper international integration and future growth.
As the semiconductor industry continues to evolve in response to technological, economic, and geopolitical challenges, the Czech Republic’s strong and coordinated presence at SEMICON Europa 2025 clearly demonstrated its ambition to be an active and reliable partner in shaping the future of European microelectronics.
