Applying for CEITEC Student Talent Summer School 2026

• The summer school is aimed at high school students in the third grade, but any high school student can apply.
• As we are limited by the size of the labs and the number of students/mentor, participants are selected based on cover letters that they supply as part of the application process.
• We consider the reasons why the student would like to attend the Summer School, why they chose the topic, how participation could help them in their future studies, etc. Cover letters are evaluated directly by the mentors of the research projects.
• Applications are open until 30 June 2026.

Interested in applying?

• Choose the topic that you want to pursue – you should always apply for a specific research project.
• Apply by email to Marcela.Frybortova@ceitec.vutbr.cz – the email must state your chosen research project as well as a short cover letter in which you outline why you chose the topic, what made you interested in it, and why it could benefit you personally.
• Put “Summer School 2026” in the subject line.
• Apply by 30 June 2026, when the application period closes.
• If you are selected, we will contact you at the very end of June with instructions on how to make your registration binding via our website. The binding registration will entail paying a registration fee of 500 CZK.
• We will provide food and board for participants throughout the duration of the programme at a nearby dormitory (7-minute walk).

• 18:00 – 21:00 | BBQ and Improvised Networking (CEITEC BUT Courtyard)

Day 2 (Tuesday, August 18, 2026)

•  9:00 – 13:00 | Lab Work
• 14:00 – 17:00 | Programme in Brno City Centre
• 17:00 – 18:00 | Hands-On Science with Stanislav Průša, Summer School Expert Guarantor
• 18:00 – 20:00 | Pub Quiz

Day 3 (Wednesday, August 19, 2026)

• 14:00 – 16:00 | Field Trip to Thermo Fisher Scientific
