SME Feedback Workshop on the Chips Act 2.0

The European Commission is preparing the Chips Act 2.0, a measure aimed at strengthening the European semiconductor ecosystem, increasing its competitiveness and resilience, and supporting the entire value chain. Small and medium-sized enterprises and other stakeholders in the semiconductor and electronics sectors can share their comments on the proposal during an online workshop on October 14, 2026, or in writing.

The Chips Act 2.0 is a proposal by the European Commission aimed at strengthening the European semiconductor ecosystem, increasing its resilience and competitiveness, and supporting the entire value chain. The proposal also aims to improve conditions for European companies and facilitate their access to support tools and infrastructure.

Companies can influence the form of the measures being prepared

To ensure that the Chips Act reflects the real needs of companies in the ecosystem, the Enterprise Europe Network, in collaboration with the European Commission, is organizing an event titled “SME Feedback Workshop on the Chips Act 2.0.”

During the workshop, participants will learn about the proposal and will have the opportunity to share their experiences, needs, and feedback directly with representatives of the European Commission.

The discussion will cover topics such as:

• the role of SMEs in the European semiconductor and electronics ecosystem,
• access to support tools, pilot lines, infrastructure, centers of excellence, and EU programs,
• any administrative burdens and barriers to accessing support,
• the involvement of various stakeholders across the value chain,
• specific recommendations for the next steps in the legislative process.

Who is this workshop intended for?

The workshop is particularly relevant for small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the fields of semiconductors, microelectronics, and electronics. Participating companies may include, for example, those involved in the manufacture and supply of semiconductors, chip development, electronic components, manufacturing equipment, testing, and packaging, as well as other players in the European semiconductor and electronics value chain.

The event will take place online on October 14, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and the program will be conducted in English. Participation is free, but prior registration is required.

Companies can also share feedback in writing

Companies do not have to provide their feedback only during the workshop. They can also submit their experiences, needs, and comments on the Chips Act 2.0 proposal in writing through the Enterprise Europe Network.
