The Czech Semiconductor Centre was visible at the Czech Semicon Days. Jana Drbohlavova, Deputy Director of the CSC, was a guest on a panel discussion on the Future of Semiconductors. On Tuesday 13 May 2025 she presented the mission and vision of our centre, as well as the core services we want to contribute to the EU Chips Act. Together with her, the speakers included Kondrad Young, Former Vice President for R&D at TSMC, Professor in the Leadership Program at National Taiwan University. Among the guests of the panel were also Stefan Uhlig from Silicon Saxony and Jan Pleskac from Tropic Square.
Together they discussed topics such as building partnerships between startups, suppliers, and investors; the role of academia and government in fostering R&D and invesments; key opportunities for the Czech Republic in the semiconductor ecosystem and also future of semiconductor industry – new materials and technologies. In the exhibition part there was CSC roll-up together with the stand of the electrofaculty of the BUT, where interested parties could get more detailed information about the functioning of the newly established CSC.
In May 2025, the CzechInvest Agency held a series of events under the banner Czech Semicon Days, focused on the development of the semiconductor industry. This year marked 70 years since the Czech Republic’s first technological milestones in the field. “The Czech Republic is well-positioned to become a global chip industry player, thanks to its strong industrial tradition, quality technical education, and a network of innovative companies and universities,” said Jan Michal, Director General of CzechInvest. “Czech Semicon Days demonstrated our readiness to realise this potential.”
The event took place in Prague on 13–14 May and featured a range of specialised programmes. It opened with the Czech Investment Forum in the Fanta Building, highlighting the national semiconductor ecosystem and strategy. Discussions covered geopolitical challenges and opportunities in global supply chains. On the second day, seminars, workshops, and networking sessions continued. The Czech-Taiwanese Semiconductors Supplier Day focused on economic cooperation and supply chain development, including sessions with ITRI representatives and Prof. Young. The Czech Semiconductor Ecosystem Day showcased best practices in regional development and international collaboration. The Czech Semicon Workshop targeted international investors and companies, presenting opportunities within the Czech investment environment, including financing options and visa support.
