The Czech Semiconductor Centre will be at the International Industrial Fair (IIF) in Brno from 6 to 9 October 2026. Our main base will be part of the Brno University of Technology exhibition in Hall A1, with an additional CSC presence at the Czech Technical University stand. On Tuesday, CSC Director Petr Kamenický will also speak at the Czech National Exhibition in Hall P about opportunities that the semiconductor industry offers Czech companies.
IIF is the most important industrial fair in Central Europe, bringing together key areas of engineering and electrical engineering, with a strong focus on industrial digitalisation, automation and technologies for the factory of the future. The 2026 edition takes place at the Brno Exhibition Centre from 6 to 9 October. For the Czech Semiconductor Centre, IIF is an important opportunity to meet companies that may not see themselves primarily as part of the semiconductor industry, but whose products, production processes and future competitiveness increasingly depend on chips, sensors, power electronics, connectivity and advanced electronics.
Our main presence at IIF will be at the Brno University of Technology (BUT) exhibition in Hall A1, stands 025 + 027. Visitors will be able to meet CSC representatives and discuss how the Centre can support companies seeking to enter or develop activities in the semiconductor and microelectronics sector. Topics may range from access to European pilot lines and research infrastructure to expert support, cooperation opportunities and skills development. As one of the universities behind CSC, BUT also represents an important link between semiconductor research, engineering education and practical industrial applications. IIF therefore provides a natural setting for presenting the Centre directly alongside university expertise and technologies. CSC materials and merchandise will also be available at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU), Hall A1, stand 024, giving visitors another opportunity to find information about the Centre and its services during the fair.
New semiconductor micro-credentials presented
One of the topics we will be highlighting in Hall A1 is the new micro-credential offer developed in collaboration with Brno University of Technology and the Czech Technical University in Prague. The courses are designed to strengthen practical specialist skills relevant to semiconductor technologies, electronics and advanced industrial applications. The current portfolio includes, among other areas, sensor and actuator design, microfabrication and packaging; sensor fabrication and calibration; analogue and digital integrated circuit design; and testing of analogue integrated circuits. Further courses address vacuum and ultra-high-vacuum systems, PCB design, rapid prototyping of electronic devices, surface analysis and diagnostics of nanostructures, XPS and AES analysis, low-power embedded systems and Embedded C programming for microcontrollers. Visitors interested in developing the skills of their engineering teams will therefore be able to learn more about the individual courses directly at IIF.
Petr Kamenický to speak at the Czech National Exhibition
A key point in the CSC programme will come on Tuesday, 6 October, from 14:20 to 15:05, when CSC Director Petr Kamenický will take part in the session “Semiconductors for Industry” at the Czech National Exhibition in Hall P. The seminar, organised by CzechInvest as part of CzechBusiness, will focus on the opportunities the semiconductor sector offers Czech companies. It will introduce possibilities for cooperation, access to European pilot lines and research infrastructure, expert support and education. The discussion will also address current needs of the Czech semiconductor ecosystem, including talent development, innovation, stronger industrial cooperation and new market opportunities. Petr Kamenický will be joined by Stanislav Černý and David Pejšek. The Czech National Exhibition itself is located in Hall P and forms one of the central meeting points for government institutions, companies and representatives of Czech industry at this year’s IIF.
What else should semiconductor and microelectronics visitors look out for?
Although IIF covers the industrial sector much more broadly, several parts of this year’s programme are particularly relevant to companies and professionals working with semiconductors, electronics and enabling technologies:
- Artificial Intelligence in the Czech Republic – Tuesday, 6 October, 12:40–13:25, Czech National Exhibition. The session will address the Czech National AI Strategy 2030, research and innovation support, practical AI deployment and the European regulatory environment. For the semiconductor sector, the link between computing hardware, AI applications and future industrial demand makes this a particularly relevant topic.
- Sensor to Satellite Future Connectivity Forum – Wednesday, 7 October, 10:00–13:00, Hall P, room P3. The forum will cover industrial digitalisation, IoT, 5G, eSIM technologies, secure data infrastructure and open 5G networks – areas closely connected with sensors, embedded electronics and semiconductor-enabled industrial systems.
- Digital Factory 2.0 and DIGI STAGE – throughout IIF, Hall F. Exhibitors will present industrial digitalisation solutions and practical case studies, while automation and artificial intelligence remain major themes of this year’s fair.
- Robots in Engineering – Thursday, 8 October, Hall P. The programme will combine practical manufacturing case studies, expert presentations and the ROBOTS exhibition. The same day, the 3D FORUM will explore new approaches to product development, including the use of artificial intelligence in engineering design.
