Another extraordinary success was attributed to the university spin-off DynaNIC Semiconductors from Brno University of Technology, which has its roots at the Faculty of Information Technology. The company succeeded in this year’s Venture Club Disrupt Awards, organized under the auspices of Startup Disrupt and Venture Club. The event annually seeks out cutting-edge start-ups with growth potential and global technology ambitions. This year, 45 projects entered the competition and 5 were selected for the final round. DynaNIC representatives presented their project to investors at a gala evening held on 3 June at Prague Castle – and ended up winning first place and with it an investment of up to €3 million. The organisers highlighted, among other things, the fact that DynaNIC is proof of how even in Central Europe a groundbreaking hardware project with global potential can be created.

DynaNIC is a technology spin-off focused on developing advanced networking solutions based on FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) technology. It enables significantly faster processing of network traffic by transferring demanding network operations from the processor to programmable network cards with data flow rates of up to 400 Gbps. It is thus the answer to the current challenges in connection with the rapid development of AI and the increase in the volume of transmitted data, as Jan Kořenek from the Accelerated Network Technologies Research Group confirms: “One chip programmed by us is able to replace tens to hundreds of computers with its computing capacity. Instead of a large number of computers, just one with an accelerator card on which the programmed FPGA chip is placed. This will also significantly reduce energy consumption.” For more information visit website of Startup Disrupt.
